Ride-hailing platform Bolt has integrated around 700 airport taxis from Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) into its platform, enabling seamless booking for travellers arriving at Dubai’s two major airports – Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).

Visitors can now book airport taxis on demand through the Bolt app, ensuring a hassle-free, transparent, and digitally advanced travel experience.

Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, said, “Dubai has long been at the forefront of adopting smart mobility solutions, and this strategic partnership with Bolt reflects our shared commitment to enhancing the travel experience for tourists and residents alike.”

Alfalasi added, “This collaboration will elevate our digital transportation services and further solidify DTC’s leadership in the mobility sector, regionally and internationally.”

With the integration of DTC’s airport taxis, Bolt and Dubai Taxi have said passengers arriving in Dubai can skip taxi queues by pre-booking a ride through the Bolt app and enjoy upfront fare transparency with no surprises. They will also have access to a dedicated fleet of airport taxis.

The move, aimed at enhancing passenger convenience, comes as Dubai continues to see a surge in tourism and business travellers. Dubai’s tourism industry has been witnessing a rapid increase in visitor numbers. The city welcomed 17.15 million international overnight visitors in 2023, according to the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).

The latest initiative from the DFM-listed DTC also aligns with the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) vision of shifting 80 per cent of taxi trips to online bookings in the coming years.

Integrating airport taxis into Bolt’s ride-hailing network marks a significant expansion of the company’s partnership with Dubai Taxi Company. GJ Kistemaker, Vice President of Partner Markets, Business Development, and MENA at Bolt, said, “We are excited to expand our collaboration with Dubai Taxi Company and the wider transport ecosystem in Dubai by introducing airport taxis on our platform.”

He added, “This initiative aligns with our mission to offer seamless, efficient, and digital-first mobility solutions that enhance the travel experience for residents and visitors.”

Bolt, which operates in over 500 cities globally, has been expanding its presence in the Middle East, focusing on enhancing urban mobility, sustainability, and affordability.

Bolt, the international ride-hailing platform, launched its operations in the UAE on December 2, last year. Initially, Bolt offered services such as standard rides, Bolt XL for larger groups, and Bolt Premium for premium rides, with plans to introduce taxi services in subsequent phases.
